Ehson Hashemian is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Southern California. He started singing as an adolescent and began developing his songwriting skills as a teenager. Ehson wrote music with and played keyboard in his former band The Jakes, currently known as Young the Giant.
His credits include Young the Giant single “Cough Syrup,” which is certified Gold in the US, Canada, and Italy. The song reached third in US Alternative Songs Billboard Chart. It was featured in the remake of the film Fright Night, and covered on TV shows Glee and The Voice. Other songs Ehson is credited have been featured on MTV’s The Real World: Brooklyn and A&E’s The Beast.
In 2009, Ehson left the band to pursue his solo-project called Backwards Forwards. He released an EP titled “You Are Here” in October 2012, and is currently working on multiple albums for the project, which cover a broad range of genres.
